Bespoke Clothing

Bespoke means made for you.
Every garment begins with a conversation, your ideas. I develop each piece from scratch, working with authentic historical patterns as reference and carefully selected materials to create something that fits your body, your vision, and your story.

What I offer

I specialise in made-to-measure historical costumes and underwear covering European fashion from the eighteenth, nineteenth, and twentieth centuries. Whether you are looking for a ballgown, an everyday ensemble, or a costume for a special occasion – each piece is researched, drafted, and sewn by hand in my Vienna atelier.

The process

  1. Consultation – We discuss your vision, the historical period, the occasion, and your requirements and budget. This can take place in person in Vienna or remotely.
  2. Research & Pattern Development – I research the relevant historical sources and develop an authentic design and pattern tailored to your measurements.
  3. Fabric & Materials – Together we select the most suitable fabrics and materials, with a focus on quality and historical accuracy.
  4. Fittings – Depending on the complexity of the garment, one or more fittings ensure the perfect fit. This can take place in person or I will send you the item and we do a fitting remotely.
  5. Finished Garment – After finishing your garment we will do a last fitting to ensure that everything is to your liking.

Materials & craftsmanship

I believe that a garment is only as good as the materials it is made from. Every commission begins with a careful selection of fabrics and trimmings to fit your vision.
Wherever possible I source natural fibres: silks, wools, linens and cottons that behave the way historical garments were meant to behave – draping, moving and feeling as their originals. Synthetic substitutes may look similar at first glance, but they lack the weight, the hand, and the authenticity that makes a truly historical garment feel right.
Most fabrics and trimmings I use are made in europe.

The same care goes into the construction of your garment. Seams are finished by hand where appropriate, linings are chosen to complement the outer fabric, and fastenings are selected with historical accuracy and your comfort in mind.

Pricing

Each commission is unique and individually quoted based on the complexity of the garment, the materials chosen, and the time required. The prices below are starting points and meant as a guide to help you plan. I am happy to provide an estimate following our initial consultation!
